Why Viridiflora?
Art
Latin is the language used for botanical scientific names and Viridiflora means “green flower” in Latin. We based our branding off that simple concept and selected a Viburnum flower; our intention is to communicate its euphoric symmetry and illustrate its evolutionary beauty.
The beautiful burst of flower has clusters of petals and a plethora of nectar glands that once pollinated, turn into fruit that are spherical or oval. The flowers can have both a bilateral & radial symmetry and are often white, with a pink or green hue. We used this imagery to construct our new logo, conceive our color palette, and shape our vision.
Nature
There are many Viburnums native to our eco-regions here in Pennsylvania. They come in many shapes and sizes, and adapt to many growing conditions. Viburnums are extremely valuable to our local wildlife and habitats as they are host plants for the Spring Azure Butterfly and their leaves feed many insects in the Lepidoptera family. They are a perfect example of resiliency and versatility.
And so…
Viridiflora was born from our love of creative design and a passion for things that grow, bloom, and feed wild habitats. This genus of species inspires our creativity, our passion for plants, reinforces our resiliency, and is a metaphor for our vision of life.
